Some people have a way of making you want to get up and create. This portrait was inspired by a self-portrait of a dear friend and prolific painter whose enthusiasm for making art is absolutely infectious.

Her expressive face, bright eyes, and unmistakable energy seem to radiate optimism and possibility. Whenever I look at her, I’m reminded that creativity isn’t something to wait for—it’s something to dive into with both hands.

As I translated her painted image into mosaic, I found myself smiling throughout the process. The finished portrait captures the spark that first drew me in: a sense of joy, momentum, and the simple pleasure of making things.
